The Giving Back Exchange is proud to continue its annual partnership with Ladder Up to assist Chicago families with completing their tax returns thereby keeping more of their hard-earned money. In 2019, CFE volunteers completed 112 returns totaling $362,126 in refunds! Join us this year as we aim to return even more money to members of our community.
Ladder Up will provide a targeted tax training for CFE Members. The training will take place at the Ladder Up office located in the Apparel Center on Thursday, January 16, 2020. However, if this date is not convenient, tax training sessions are available throughout Dec. & Jan. at the Ladder Up offices, as well as: Harold Washington College, Aurora, Buffalo Grove, Wilbur Wright & Evanston. Note, the CFE Annual Meeting & Winter Social begins at 5:30 at The East Bank Club. There are two entrances to access the Ladder Up offices. 350 West Mart Center (recommended for training) and 350 N. Orleans.
CFE will once again sponsor three volunteer opportunities on Saturdays in February, from 8:30 am - 1:00 pm at The Greater Chicago Food Depository (new & bigger location — about 4 miles away from our old site-WIC Western!). 4100 W. Ann Lurie Place (right off I55 & Pulaski)

CFE Ladder Up Registration Site
Getting to the Ladder Up office for Training: Enter the Apparel Center through the Holiday Inn lobby on 350 W. Mart Center (Also called Wolf Point Plaza). As you enter the lobby at the end take the escalators 2 flights down to level C2 (if needed, there is an elevator on the Holiday Inn side of the lobby where the escalator comes up from the concourse). Once at Level C2, enter the hallway and turn right. Our Suite is C2-100 and it should be down the hall, we have a glass wall and you will be able to see inside. If you get lost please call our office 312-466-0771 and we can steer you in the right direction.
If you are coming from the CTA Brown/Purple line: Merchandise Mart stop. Walk down the second floor of Merchandise Mart and the skywalk will connect you to the Apparel Center. You will pass the River Room keep walking until you get to the escalators.
