A Message from the President...

CFE Exchanges: Join the Conversation

When I first joined CFE a decade or so ago, I was quickly advised to “Join a Committee” as that was the best way to make sure I got the most out of my membership. And it was sound advice. By helping launch CFE’s Board Access Initiative, I was able to get to know a number of other CFE members while meaningfully engaging on something of great personal importance to me – educating our board members on corporate governance and increasing the gender diversity in our corporate boardrooms.

While we still need the important work of committees to support all of programs and initiatives, we’ve restructured our activities around 5 identified areas of interest or “Exchanges,” namely:

Finance and Investments
Current Events and Business Trends
Leadership and Professional Development
Giving Back

The Exchanges are the groups that bring members together by topic or interest area to, in turn, generate the ideas around which CFE programs are developed and executed. We shared information about this new structure at our June 8th workshop and most recently at our fantastic Summer Social at The Ivy Boutique Hotel.

With the Exchanges now launched and with initial leadership identified, we’re now asking each of you to identify around those areas in which you are most interested and want to be engaged.

• What topics excite you the most –both personally and professionally?
• What dinner speakers would you suggest we contact to add to our rich conversations around these Exchange areas?
• What programs and activities will allow you to get the most out of YOUR CFE membership?

You are already part of the CFE community and now your voice can be heard through the Exchanges in which you are most interested. You’ve joined CFE, now Join the Conversation.
